गुमसुम सी ज़िन्दगी

गुमसुम है क्यूँ तू इतना,
ज़िन्दगी से इतना क्यूँ है खफा,
माना की बड़े हैं गम तेरे,
पर क्यूँ तू ये भूलता है,
उन गम के संग हम भी हैं तेरे,
इन गमों को तू कर दे मेरे!

रोक मत इस दिल-ए-नादाँ को,
मचलने दे इसे खुल कर ज़रा,
थोडा तू हस ले, थोडा तू मुस्कुरा,
माना की बड़े हैं गम तेरे,
पर क्यूँ तू ये भूलता है,

निगाहें

इन्सां तो देता लव्जों को ही तव्वजो,

मिला नहीं इन निगाहों को कोई कद्रदां.

बिन लव्जों के सब कुछ करें ये बयाँ!

दोस्ती

इकबाल-ए-प्यार की शुरुआत है दोस्ती,
गुल-ए-गुलज़ार, मौसम-ए-बहार है दोस्ती,
औरों का तो पता नहीं ए वक़्त,
पर इस नादां को ज़िन्दगी से प्यारी है दोस्ती!

इक खुशनसीब का मुकम्मल जहां है दोस्ती,
भरी बरसात का मौसम-खुशनुमा है दोस्ती,
औरों का तो पता नहीं ए वक़्त
पर इस नादाँ के लिए तो जिन्द है जहां है दोस्ती!

हज़ारों ख्वाहिशें ऐसी!

तन से तो हम सभी हो गए हैं बड़े

पर मन सभी के अभी भी बालपन में हैं पड़े 

कुछ हसीं सपने इस बालमन ने हैं जड़े

चाहता है बालमन मेरा

माँ की गोद में सर रखकर सोना,

छोटी-छोटी बातों पर सिसक सिसक रोना!

पापा के कंधे पर मेले की वोह सैर,

कांटे भरी बेरी से चोरी किये बेर!

भैया के संग-संग, उन संकरी गलियों में क्रिकेट का खेल,

हवा में तैरती पतंगों का वो मेल!

छोटी बहना को आखरी आम के लिए सताना,

आइसक्रीम वाले की ट्रिंग-ट्रिंग सुनकर, वोह मन का ललचाना!

ए मित्र, चाहता है बालमन मेरा,

तुम्हारे शुष्क होंठों पर हंसी लाना!

चाहता है बालमन मेरा, ए प्रिये,

तुमको फिरसे गले लगाना! 

चावल के दाने!!

हवा में उछाले चावल के दानों की तरह,

हम क्यूँ तितर-बितर हो गए,
